OUR ROADMAP

Known Problems

This is an early web build, so browser-related problems may occur.

  • Some UI Elements and most of the relics&augments have placeholders, during development process we`ll update this type of things.
  • Firefox may not launch the game correctly - Please try Chrome, Edge, or another browser.
  • After you pressed 2 times in a row Q or E during gameplay. Sometimes game won`t continue - it`s web version bug, in windows build this bug wont appear..
  • Tutorial wont start or During Tutorial game freezing - We guess it`s web version related problem if you still have that problem in windows version please send us more information about that, we must check that !
  • Some translations, names, and descriptions are currently AI-generated and may be unclear. These will be rewritten and improved in future updates.

When an error screen appears, please use Copy Log and send us the copied information, or open Details and share a screenshot.

Coming here from the PostJam Jam. I really like the concept of this game: that I can actually throw the dice with physics is a lot of fun. I may not be well-versed enough in the game genre to immediately understand everything; the tutorial was a little too light for me.

I cannot praise the art style enough. I actually chuckled whe my first click gave an onomatopeia. That said, maybe the worldbuilding will become clearer later but I found the terms Gold and Relics ill matched. I presume a Cthuloid setting though, in which case it may fit after all.

You have a lot of "juice" already, which is great; some of the text can use better layouting - the dice abilities starting with a dark caption for example could be better, and not every text needs to bob quit to much, but that is fine detail.

I am looking forward to seeing more of ZAR. Good luck with your Steam journey. Points for presentation!

Thank you so much for your feedback! We’ll keep improving the game with future updates.

We’re planning to change some of the terminology and text later on. Some of the current terms aren’t necessarily tied to the final theme; for now, they’re mainly there to make their purpose and function easier to understand.

There will definitely be more polishing, balancing, and fine-tuning as development continues. At this stage, what matters most to us is that you enjoyed the overall gameplay and concept.

Thanks again for playing ZAR and for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback!

It's quite a good game. The visuals and overall concept are cool, and the mechanics are easy to understand. I think there's a lot of potential, even if it feels a bit unbalanced at the moment.

As for the gameplay loop, it works for me. It's really satisfying when everything starts bouncing around and eventually turns into some crazy numbers. However, it doesn't seem very easy to actually get a build going. You only have a limited number of dice, and some relics simply don't do anything if you miss.

I think there could be more radical synergies between the dice and relics. Not just ways to make the numbers bigger, but more interactions built around collisions and chain reactions. The one shown in the GIF feels really good — maybe the game just needs to make moments like that easier to set up?

It would also be great if the dice had more visual identity. Right now they all look quite similar, so I found myself checking them one by one to remember what each of them did.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! We’re really glad you enjoyed the demo.

We’re currently working on many of the points you mentioned. At the moment, the game still needs quite a lot of balancing, both in terms of difficulty and the synergies between relics and augments. We’ll keep adding new interactions and improving existing combinations in future updates.

We’re also working on giving augments a much clearer visual identity on the dice, so players can understand what each die does without constantly checking them one by one.

Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts. Stay tuned for future updates!

Cool! I'm looking forward to a full release!

Hello from JazzWitch's team!
You've made quite a fun game. Its visual identity is pretty strong, and it stands out. The mechanics are very simple but probably difficult to master in the long run as your progression gets more chaotic, and more dice fill up the screen.  I can totally see this being an addictive game, a big plus for it is how short each run is!
However, your current difficulty curve seems a bit off to me; it's too easy to get crazy damage numbers and a bit too difficult to lose, or even waste all your turns and dice. I suggest you play around with the numbers some more, balance out the enemy HP and your damage! Perhaps rethink the choice of having enemy HP in decimals.
It's difficult to tell from this version, does it have a storyline as well? I would love to see different sides of the characters you play against, and some background design of the table too.

Best of luck with your development!

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Yes, unfortunately the game still hasn’t gone through any real balancing yet. Since it’s still in alpha, our main goal was to showcase the mechanics first. But after all the positive feedback we’ve received, we’re slowly starting to focus more on balancing as well, so we can make the overall gameplay feel more stable and consistent in the near future.

We do have a story in mind, and because of the game’s theme, we’re planning to present it through comic book style panels. Of course, that will be a pretty long process since it requires a lot of artwork, so our current plan is to add most of that closer to the final version. :D

cool game

Thanks a lot !!

This is a good game, but it was really hard for me to play because I’m new to games like this.

Thanks for a comment !

Sorry if its chaotic, i'm rly bad writer, ill try my best to be understandable.

i like the concept, seems rly fun. more synergystic combinations is what will make this game way better (not that now there are no synergies but just more = better)

there are few annoying things in UI though for me
the cursor isn't rly precise (especially the version that isn't hovering over anything), the pulsating also doesn't help, sometimes when you hover over something the tooltip keeps appearing/disappearing cause of this slight pulsation
the zoom on the dice's "board" on the right of the screen is also annoying, you want to pick something and then it gets zoomed into another place so you have to wait for the zoom to end
throwing dice felt counter intuitive for me, i mean their direction. i thought i could roll them forward when i drag them forward (dunno maybe that's cause i spent too much time in tabletop simulator and there it is the other way around)
also it was weird that i have to click to select the dice then hold to roll it. maybe it would feel more natural to just be able to drag straight up from the table and be able to throw instantly? (but that's still connected to how the throwing actually works)

also there is not speed up button, for some rubbery bouncing dices this also gets kinda annoying when it can bounce for like ~15seconds

those are rly minor things though and overall game is super good quality + the concept is fun.

looking forward for more updates and for steam page so i can wishlist.

best of luck!

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Even though these might seem like small details, how players feel while playing is really important to us. We will definitely keep working on improving and changing these parts based on feedback like yours!

The reason the dice throwing system works this way is mainly because of aiming. Previously, we had a system where you could simply hold, drag, and release to throw the dice, but we noticed that it made it difficult to properly aim at relics and interact with objects in the scene. That’s why we changed it to the current system.

I haven’t played Tabletop Simulator before, but I’ll definitely take a look at how their throwing system works. Maybe there are some ideas we can adapt to make it feel more natural.

The cursor has a small idle animation where it slightly grows and shrinks, so that might be causing the tooltip to appear and disappear sometimes. I’ll look into that and see how we can improve it.

About the inventory zoom: the reason we added it is actually for a future system where dice augments will be displayed directly on the dice, making them easier to inspect and understand. Right now it might feel unnecessary, but it will have more purpose later. That being said, I agree that it needs to be more user-friendly, and we’ll improve this part in future updates.

Also, you don’t actually need to wait for the zoom out animation — when your mouse leaves the inventory area, it should immediately zoom back out. I’ll check if this behavior is working properly.

A speed-up option is also planned! Currently, the game automatically speeds things up after a certain amount of time, but I want to add a manual speed-up button as well in the future :D

Thanks again for taking the time to play and share such detailed feedback. It really helps us improve ZAR!

it is definately fun to play i can see the progress and what this is going to end up as is quite fun.

Thank you so much for comment ! If you liked the game you can also follow our page and left rate that`ll be really help us to get more visibility from itchio

Every time I play this game, I see incredible progress. The theme and gameplay are truly excellent. It is a game with high potential. I hope it achieves the success it deserves.

Thanks!!!

Fun and addictive gameplay ! As a fan a Balatro i really liked the idea.  I`ll be on follow for new updates !!!

Thanks a lot !!

Very cool demo, I am looking forward to a full release.

Thanks !!
